Physicians Mutual is seeking a Director of Creative Direction to elevate our brand and inspire our creative team. This leadership role is for someone who can blend bold imagination with thoughtful innovation — bringing our brand vision to life while also creating compelling sales materials that help people choose our insurance products with confidence.
You’ll guide a talented group of designers and writers to deliver work that is visually stunning, emotionally resonant, and strategically aligned. Just as importantly, you’ll communicate a clear creative vision — helping teams and stakeholders see what’s possible and rallying them around a unified brand expression that also drives business results.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary creative team to produce high-impact brand and sales materials.
- Shape and champion the creative vision for the organization—ensuring alignment across marketing, brand, and sales initiatives.
- Translate strategic objectives into innovative creative concepts and campaigns that resonate with our audiences.
- Partner with marketing, product, and sales leaders to create cohesive, results-driven campaigns.
- Ensure all creative output reflects Physicians Mutual’s values and meets regulatory and compliance standards.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive environment where designers and writers can do their best work and push creative boundaries.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Commercial Art, Copywriting, Marketing, or related creative field.
- 10 years of creative experience, with at least 5 years in leadership or team management roles.
- A proven portfolio showcasing excellence in both design and copy across diverse channels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of working within a regulated industry, ideally with insurance and compliance requirements.
- Ability to clearly articulate and communicate a brand’s creative vision to inspire teams and influence stakeholders.
- A track record of leading creative teams to deliver innovative, effective solutions that strengthen brand identity and business outcomes.
