Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our compounding pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy practice, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing compounding pharmacy technicians and dispensing activities, formula development, and serve as a liaison with prescribers. This is a great opportunity to learn compounding in a well established compounding pharmacy that makes both sterile and non-sterile medications. We have a unique business model with practitioners and an infusion suite on-site. We offer 10 hour shifts and our preference is to hire a 30 hour person, but would entertain the possibility of hiring a 40 hour per week person. The compatibility of the person is the critical piece.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services including drug therapy management and patient consultations.
- Oversee the compounding of medications in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions.
- Stay updated on current pharmacological knowledge, including physiology and critical care practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and rules regarding compounding.
- Recommend supplements and treatment options that align with compounding and a personalized medicine approach.
Requirements
- Pharmacist license in Michigan.
- Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacy principles, acute care, and systems management.
- Experience with compounding medications and aseptic technique is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong team player with the ability to oversee pharmacy technicians and maintain positive relationships with all team members.
