At Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, we are focused on delivering quality patient care. Our Department of Health Information Services is currently seeking a full time Medical Records Clerk.
Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Will monitor faxes and incoming documentation.
- Responsible for scanning/downloading information into patients’ electronic health records.
- Notifying providers when results are available.
- Monitoring the electronic health record to ensure completeness of documentation.
- Will respond to requests for patient records by providing the records to external agencies.
- Provides phone coverage inclusive of answering incoming calls to medical records, routing calls to appropriate party, and communicating with patients or other appropriate parties.
- May assist walk in patients with request for their medical records.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
- Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
