Michael Crichton, MD, passed away in November, 2008, but at least two more books may appear on the stands over the next couple of years.
Crichton finished one book before his death last year, and the other will be completed based on his notes.
Crichton, a regular in the “pages” of PRN, was a doctor turned novelist and filmmaker whose books have sold more than 150 million copies worldwide.
The first book, a completed novel called “Pirate Latitudes,” is an adventure story set in Jamaica in 1665. The manuscript was reportedly discovered in Crichton’s files after this death and will be published this November.
The second book, to be published in late 2010, is a technological thriller “which explores the outer edges of new science and technology,” according to HarperCollins. The book will be based on extensive notes and files that Crichton compiled before his death and will be completed by an author yet to be determined. The title has also not yet been decided.
