What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist - Medical Office position at Physician Practice?
The Account Receivable Specialist is responsible for patient accounts, payment posting and denial resolution to achieve maximum reimbursement, as well as performing clerical duties. This is a multi-functional role within the billing department, the candidate should have full working knowledge of all aspects of the position.
Duties could include, but not limited to:
- Work all types of denials received from insurance companies.
- File appeals, update status, complete all steps to resolve denials, and complete associated paperwork.
- Track and resolve outstanding denials, including make daily calls and research account issues.
- Track and resolve outstanding payment issues on denied claims, including make daily collection calls and research account issues.
- Assist patients with billing questions, payment plans, and insurance questions, as necessary.
- Review accounts for delinquency and refer bad debt accounts over to collection agency, as necessary.
- Send patient statements and send claims to insurance companies, as necessary.
- Benefit verification and coordination
- Procedure pre-authorization
- Post payments, reconcile explanation of benefits.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
