Psychiatrist - Outpatient (Part-Time)

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a part-time Psychiatrist - Outpatient to the group at NYC Health Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services, from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.

Opportunity Details

• 24-hour per week schedule; generally any 3 days Monday-Friday with flexibility to add 1-2 evening sessions weekly as outpatient evening services expand.
• Provide outpatient psychiatric care to adults age 18 and older, including geriatric patients.
• Participate as a member of the outpatient interdisciplinary treatment team and in team meetings.
• Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and intakes, ongoing psychopharmacologic treatment, appropriate outreach, treatment planning, risk assessment, and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with Behavioral Health, Primary Care, and other services to promote continuity of care and movement to the appropriate level of treatment.
• Participate in quality, safety, and performance-improvement activities.
• Teaching and supervisory responsibilities for medical students, interns, trainees, and externs, as applicable, as part of the Behavioral Health treatment program.
