Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Inpatient Medicine to the group at NYC Health Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. To this day, Jacobi and NCB remain respected leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health. Opportunity Details
- Will participate in our Women’s Option clinic, including performing intakes or any surgical procedures.
- Elicit a detailed and accurate medical history, perform a complete physical examination, and record all pertinent data.
- Perform and/or interpret and/or order routine diagnostic studies including routine laboratory procedures, common radiological studies, and EKG tracings.
- Inform the supervising physician of all changes in the patients' conditions and pertinent diagnostic results.
- Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections, nasogastric and urinary catheterization, and insertion of intravenous lines.
- Under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing and completes pre-op tasks.
- Perform patient rounds, collect data, and write pertinent progress notes on charts.
- Refers to appropriate sub-specialty consultants.
- Counsels patients regarding physical and mental health, as well as provides patient information on nutrition, health promotion, pertinent health education and, if needed, continued care.
- Develop management plans in accordance with established protocols in conjunction with the Attending physician.
Salary : $131,127 - $174,836
