Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine to the group at NYC Health Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. Opportunity Details
- Performing history and physical examinations.
- Ordering diagnostic tests based on assessments and laboratory procedures, common radiological studies, and EKG tracings.
- Developing treatment plans, prescribing drugs, and other therapies, as needed.
- Performing therapeutic procedures, including injections, nasogastric and urinary catheterization, and insertion of intravenous lines.
- Performs advanced therapeutic and diagnostic procedures which may include central venous catheterization, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture and arterial line placement after completing a process to determine competency.
- Consulting with supervising medical provider, when appropriate.
- Counseling patients and families regarding care, mental and physical health, and patient education.
- Works collaboratively with representatives from dietary, nursing, respiratory, social services, and other patient care/support service departments.
- Precept and evaluate physician assistant students rotating through the Emergency Department.
Salary : $134,405 - $178,114
