Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and detailed patient assessments to identify health issues across pediatric, adult, geriatric, and specialized populations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, procedures such as suturing and IV infusion, and health coaching tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, sonography, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and other advanced tools.
- Manage acute pain cases, perform triage in urgent care or emergency room settings, and coordinate care for patients with complex conditions such as infectious diseases or post-acute needs.
- Administer injections including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers; assist with esthetic laser treatments; and provide specialized procedures like spinal taps or catheterizations.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate on case management initiatives, discharge planning, utilization review, and participate in clinical research projects to advance evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice independently in the designated state.
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; hospital medicine or emergency medicine experience is highly desirable. Cardiology background is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in diverse clinical skills such as suturing, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, airway management, ventilator support, and catheter care.
- Experience working with special populations, geriatrics (memory/dementia care).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform physical examinations accurately while maintaining compassionate patient care across varied settings such as outpatient clinics or home care environments.
