Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with adolescents and adults and is comfortable navigating both in-person and telepsychiatry appointments.
As a provider, you will have the autonomy to manage your patients' care while having the support of a collaborative team of Psychiatrists and fellow NPs. You will play a vital role in providing evaluations, medication management, and psychoeducation to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for new and existing patients, with a specific focus on adolescents (13 ), college students, and young adults.
- Personalized Treatment: Interpret pharmacogenetic testing results (GeneSight, etc.) to tailor medication plans to individual genetic profiles.
- Clearances: Perform psychiatric clearances for medical procedures (e.g., bariatric surgery, neurostimulation) and occupational requirements (e.g., military, aviation) as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient encounters.
- Collaboration: Consult with our Medical Director and other clinical staff on complex cases to ensure continuity of care.
- Hybrid Delivery: Provide care effectively through both in-office visits and secure telepsychiatry platforms.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted APRN license in the State of Florida.
- Certification: Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) required.
- Dual certification as FNP-BC is a plus, but not required.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an outpatient psychiatric setting preferred; however, motivated new graduates with strong clinical rotation experience in child/adolescent psychiatry will be considered.
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in psychopharmacology for anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders.
- Comfortable using EMR systems and Telehealth technology.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred to serve our diverse Florida community.
- Attributes: Empathetic, culturally competent, and able to build rapport quickly with younger demographics.
