Duties
- Assist physical therapists with patient intake, setup, and preparation for therapy sessions
- Support patients during exercises and therapeutic activities under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment
- Help with documentation and record keeping related to patient progress
- Monitor patient safety during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use of equipment
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing patient needs and concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Assist with mobility assistance for patients in inpatient, outpatient, or post-acute care settings
Skills
- Strong patient service and care skills with a compassionate approach
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy
- Experience working in hospital, outpatient clinic, or inpatient settings preferred
- Familiarity with acute care, sub-acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, or hospital medicine is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as outpatient clinics or hospital units
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, therapists, and healthcare staff
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Prior experience with intake procedures or post-acute care is a plus but not required
