Job Summary:
As a Physical Therapist at EdgePT, you will serve as the clinical expert, leading patients through recovery from complex orthopedic injuries, to post-surgical rehabilitation, to chronic physical impairments. You will exercise your right to clinical autonomy by performing comprehensive evaluations and developing sophisticated, individualized treatment plans.
In this role, you will effectively advise and implement advanced manual therapy by utilizing evidence-based interventions and our well-equipped facilities. At EdgePT, we strive for clinicians to serve as collaborative educators and advocates that dedicate adequate time and resources necessary for delivering exceptional and transformative patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physical conditions, medical histories, and goals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Serve as a consultative partner within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, & nurses, to optimize holistic treatment success.
- Apply advanced clinical reasoning to design and implement evidence-based therapeutic exercises and intervention plans to improve patients’ strength, flexibility, balance, and overall functional abilities in regards to individual patient needs.
- Properly utilize and implement various modalities, equipment, and techniques to aid in patient pain management and recovery.
- Proactively monitor and track patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes utilizing collaborative communication.
- Maintain meticulous and organized patient records, treatment plan documentation, progress notes, and any modifications made during the course of therapy.
- Empower and teach patients and their families through health literacy education, focusing on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and techniques to enhance their quality of life during and after treatment.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and education in physical therapy techniques, research, and best practices to enhance the quality and standard of care provided.
- Always uphold the highest APTA ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
- Contribute thoughtfully in regular team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- California State licensure as a Physical Therapist
- CPR certification, required
- Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) or Sports Certified Specialist (SCS), preferred
- Orthopedic, vestibular, and musculoskeletal conditions experience, preferred
- 2 years of experience in clinical practice, preferred
- Spanish language skills, preferred
