Tissue Culture Lab Technician

Position Title: Tissue Culture Lab Production Technician

Company Overview: PhyllaTech is a dynamic organization that has a reputation for outstanding leadership, innovation, and expertise. We are a commercial micropropagation lab specializing in the production of berry plants and tissue culture services.

Position Description: PhyllaTech is currently hiring a lab production technician. This position will be responsible for performing all tasks in relation to tissue culture techniques. We are seeking a team player who is optimistic and thrives working independently.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Performing all tasks related to tissue culture production, primarily the transfer of plantlets to fresh medium.

· Work in a lab setting and use sterile technique to micropropagate.

· Meet production minimums and standards.

Additional Responsibilities (may include, but not limited to):

· Cleaning of lab facilities

· Dishwashing of vessels

Requirements

· Must be able to pass a background check.

· Reliably work scheduled hours and consistently arrive to work at scheduled time.

·Tissue culture experience is not required, but desirable. Training is provided.

· Excellent use or arms, hands, and fingers to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills for use of forceps and scalpels. *

· Attentive to detail and cleanliness (Maintain a clean/sterile workspace).

· Self-starter and motivator.

· Keep a safe working environment in compliance with company protocols and OSHA regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

· Ability to lift 25 lbs on occasion. *

· Strong interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently.

· Positive attitude.

· Ability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting/standing. *

· Bilingual, Desired, not required.

· Computer proficiency, Desired, not required.

· Ability to exercise sound judgement and problem-solving.

· Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred but not required.

Hours: Full Time. Full Time. Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

Starting Compensation: Hourly, based on experience.

Start Date: Hiring Immediately.
