Senior Product Manager

Photobucket
Boulder, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 12/18/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/16/2026

Founded in 2003, Photobucket was a pioneer in online photo sharing and has served more than 100 million users over its 20 year history. Now we're transforming from a storage utility into a private social network, a place where people share moments with the people who actually matter, not algorithms.

We're a small team reshaping a classic product into something new. We need a Senior Product Manager who can own whatever needs owning and isn't intimidated by the scope of reinvention—someone who sees legacy as raw material, not baggage.

What you'll own

You'll take autonomous ownership of major product areas end-to-end, identifying problems worth solving, defining strategy, and driving execution through shipping and iteration. You won't wait to be told what to build; you'll develop a point of view, make the case, and drive it forward. You'll report to our Head of Product and work directly with a cross-functional team of engineers and designers.

Some things you might own in your first year: core product experience improvements, new social mechanics, mobile adoption strategy, or engagement loops we haven't built yet. The specifics will evolve based on what we learn and where we need you most, but you'll have significant influence over what those priorities are.

As the product team grows, you may help onboard and mentor other PMs. We're not hiring you to manage people, but we need someone with the judgment and communication skills to raise the bar for the team.

You're a fit if you

  • Have 5-8 years in product management, with substantial time on consumer products
  • Operate autonomously. You identify what matters, build conviction, and execute without needing direction.
  • Use AI tools to move faster, whether that's prototyping flows, generating design concepts, writing specs, or analyzing data. You see AI as a multiplier, not a novelty.
  • Can write SQL and dig into data yourself. You form hypotheses and test them without waiting for help.
  • Have strong product intuition. You notice friction in flows, understand why features feel right or wrong, and can articulate it clearly to engineers, designers, and executives.
  • Ship. You're biased toward action and comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Thrive in ambiguity; you don't need a playbook to figure out what to do next.
  • Context-switch well; you can hold multiple initiatives in your head without dropping balls.
  • Communicate crisply: you can write a clear spec, present to leadership, and align a team around a direction.
  • Design sensibility: you can sketch ideas and speak the language
  • Care deeply about craft, both in the product you ship and how you work with your team.
  • Mobile-first product experience (with an emphasis on React Native).

Nice to have

  • Experience with photo, social, or media products
  • Background at a startup where you wore multiple hats and shaped product direction
  • Technical background or coding aptitude: you can read code, prototype ideas, and/or understand the larger stack behind the front-end.
  • Experience mentoring or leading other PMs

What this role isn't

If you want to specialize deeply in one area, own a single feature for years, or need structured processes and clear swim lanes, this isn't your environment. We're building the plane while flying it. You'll have real ownership and real impact—but you need to be comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with that.

This also isn't a role where you'll manage a team day one. You'll be hands-on, in the work, shipping product features. Leadership here means influence and judgment, not org charts.

Why Boulder, why in-office

We believe the best product thinking happens through high-bandwidth collaboration: whiteboards, hallway conversations, and sitting together when we're puzzling through a hard problem. This role is hybrid with flexibility, but we expect in-office to be the norm, not the exception.

To apply: Send your resume and a brief note about a product you shipped that you're proud of—what the problem was, how you approached it, and what you learned.
