We are currently seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position will play a key role in the continuous improvement and expansion of our manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, justify, procure, and implement capital improvement projects for both standard and custom processing equipment.
- Provide technical support to production operations and resolve process-related issues.
- Lead new part, product, and customer launches from engineering through production.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical input and cost estimates for new customer quotes.
- Develop and manage shop floor documentation systems, including work instructions, process flows, and quality records.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing practices and process optimization.
- Design and implement tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve efficiency and quality.
- Standardize and maintain documentation related to manufacturing practices, quality control, estimating, and Kanban systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software is required.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and ISO quality systems strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with photographic development processes, optical component fabrication, or precision assembly of glass/small parts is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in tool and fixture design.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with experienced shop personnel.
