What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Production Artist position at Photo Lab, Inc.?
Photo Lab is a well-established digital graphic printing company with a national customer base. Our primary market includes the museum and exhibit industry, but also includes some retail and trade shows. We produce high-end one-of-a-kind graphics for high-profile clients and are in need of a skilled and detail oriented production designer for production ready art and pre-press work.
The industry's needs dictate the workload, which is generally very fast paced, with constant deadlines and minimal room for error. Our reputation for excellence is why our customers come to us; knowing that we deliver a superior product.
This is a full-time position. The position will primarily be Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. However we are flexible with employee schedules. During peak periods the position may require additional hours through the week and/or possibly some weekends.
The following skill set is required and or preferred:
- Must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite- Primarily Illustrator, InDesign, and PhotoShop
- Must be experienced on a MAC with knowledge of Font Management
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of production art experience
- An associates or bachelor’s degree in graphic design preferred
- Knowledgeable of various RIP software will be a plus
- Knowledgeable of various types of media, inks, and substrates will be a plus
- Knowledgeable and proficient at color matching (by eye) is a must
- Ability to create / re-create any client artwork
- Be able to work independently and self-manage
- Desire to lead a team highly preferred as team lead positions will become available
- Possess keen problem solving skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Exemplary customer service and interpersonal communication skills are required
- Ability to communicate in a clear, informative and positive manner.
- Extreme flexibility to sudden work-flow and scheduling changes
- Experience with reading architectural drawings of display graphics will be a plus
