The Patient Care Technician (PCT):
- Provides nursing care to patients under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse.
- Performs routine direct patient care activities following established policies and procedures in a manner conducive to the safety and comfort of the patient.
- Performs observations of patients and reports changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
- Performs specific skills including phlebotomy and point of care testing (POCT).
