Line Cook – Full Time
Job Description
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to company recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen. This role plays a key part in delivering a consistent, high-quality food experience for every guest. The Line Cook works as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and contributes to overall kitchen efficiency and success.
Daily Operations
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies prior to service
Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout shift
Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner to meet service demands
Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times
Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and storing ingredients
Communicate effectively with team members and kitchen leadership during service
Food Quality & Consistency
Execute all menu items to company specifications
Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards before leaving the kitchen
Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and appearance
Inventory & Organization
Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries
Label and rotate products following FIFO (first in, first out) standards
Minimize waste by using proper portioning and storage techniquesProvides training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff.
Teamwork & Support
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
Take direction from Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager
Assist other stations as needed during peak periods
Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times
Safety & Sanitation
Follow all federal, state, and company health and safety guidelines
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas
Participate in daily and weekly cleaning tasks
Qualifications
Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred, but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Other Skills
Ability to work well with others and contribute to a team environment
Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistency
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, and use of kitchen equipment
Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp tools, and moderate noise levels
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed
