TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is 8 hours/day, 4 hours of Bookkeeper and 4 hours of Secretary I duties, beginning as soon as possible.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Complete bookkeeping tasks for student activity accounts. Process purchase orders, reconcile bank statements, prepare audit records, create invoices, make bank account deposits. Maintain good working relationships with students, staff and community.
Provides clerical and receptionist services which include: computer work, answering phones, greeting and assisting the public and staff at the front desk, assists office staff team in managing building priorities, data and record keeping, inputs student attendance and runs attendance reports, prepares student tardy slips, homework requests for absent students and notes for students in class, correspondence, student health care, operates various office machinery including copier, fax machine, ten-key and computer.
This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years bookkeeping experience. Two years office experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English highly preferred.
- Computer literacy. Proficiency with Microsoft office programs: Word, Excel, Google docs, Publisher.
- Knowledge of modern office methods, practices, and procedures; business English, spelling, and math calculations.
- Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a fast paced environment.
- Must have excellent customer service skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge/experience with Quicken.
- Knowledge/experience with standard accounting procedures.
- Excellent computational skills.
- Cooperative and congenial; able to work independently.
- Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephone, bells, students, co-workers, etc.; ability to respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs).
