Armed and Unarmed Security Guards

Role Responsibility:

An Armed/Unarmed Officer Must:

• Display professionalism and the highest degree of integrity
• Understand the chain of command, respect and follow company policies and procedures
• Perform foot patrols on a regular basis as determined by our clients
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess N.C. PPS hard card as unarmed/armed guard
• Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for registration.
• Pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
• Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State
• Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
• Must have access to reliable transportation
• Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results.
• Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verification, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable

• MUST BE ABLE TO STAND OR SIT FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, MUST BE ABLE TO PHYSICALLY ABLE TO CONDUCT PATROLS BY PROVIDED WHICH MAY INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO FOOT PATROL.
• MUST BE ABLE TO MEET STATE REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ARMED SECURITY OFFICER INCLUDING SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING.

Additional Candidate Requirements:

• Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License? (not suspended or revoked)
• Have your own vehicle
• Must be willing and have the flexibility to work all shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd and weekends)
• Able to sit , stand, walk for long periods of time
• Ability to cover a security post for a late or absent officer until relief can be sent to your location
• Must not be a convicted felon, or convicted of a violent misdemeanor, theft, or have domestic violence related criminal convictions
• Must not have a active domestic violence restraining order against you or any restraining order (50B, 50C)
• Must not be on active probation or parole?
• Physical fitness assessment- certain aspects of our profession require fitness standards. Must be able to act quickly in the case of emergencies while assisting clients and customers.
