Phoenix services is hiring a dedicated Yard Laborer. This company is a leading processor, seller and recycler of scrap metals, that has been in business since 1904!
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., weekends as needed.
Job Duties:
- Ensure safety standards are followed, including the use of required PPE (personal protective equipment).
- Load and unload materials from storage, production areas, docks, and delivery vehicles using mobile equipment or manually.
- Sort recycled materials/metals to separate out high-grade metals. Remove any non-conforming metals.
- Classify scrap including the grade, type of material and any undesirable elements within the material.
- Perform cleaning duties for plant equipment and general housekeeping.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must be able to perform basic math.
· Strong communication skills required.
· Ability to maintain precise records.
· Ability to climb ladders or steps.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Able to interact with all levels of employees and customers professionally.
· Must be able to work in a setting exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations and extreme weather conditions.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
