  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  Guidance Program Delivery

• Implement school counseling and guidance program curriculum.
• Participate in activities which contribute to the effective delivery of education services.
• Confer and support parents with problems and decisions related to the educational welfare of their child.
• Conduct individual, small, and large group counseling sessions to assist students in exploring, interpreting, and developing personal decision making competencies, to enhance self-esteem and self-awareness, develop academic, career and personal, social life plans.
• Refer students and parents to appropriate community resources.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise the school counseling and guidance program.
• Attend school in-services and student services meetings as required.
• Pursue professional development.

• Emotional/Social

• Collect, coordinate, and interpret meaningful information about students which leads to the collaboration with other professionals to address students' needs.
• Use tools and techniques to appraise the abilities, achievements, personal development, and interests of students.
• Collaborates with school staff to support positive student behavior.

• Career/Academic

• Guide students in developing future goals and plans in education and career.
• Coordinate opportunities for students to be exposed to various careers and educational options. This may include college visits, guest speakers, and exposure to vocational options among other things.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities):

• Master's degree from four-year college or university or in school counseling program

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• MN School Counselor License required or pre-license candidates in counseling program

Location/Environment: Minneapolis, MN

Duration: School year Position Type: Full time and Part time

Hours: 40hours per week Monday - Friday

Salary Range: $35-$48 per hour based on experiencequalifications.
