You will lead and support an engineering team of three. Because our department is small, you will perform day-to-day engineering work while also coordinating and managing the team’s workload.
Periodic travel to Mt. Vernon, IL is required. Hybrid candidates must demonstrate a strong ability to effectively manage teams from a distance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide hands-on support for engineering projects.
· Lead and coordinate engineering activities including quality assurance, sales support, production support, and product development.
· Facilitate communication between clients/customers and internal engineers to ensure clear understanding of specifications and timelines.
· Ensure projects comply with design requirements, deadlines, and elevator code.
· Review engineering work for technical accuracy.
· Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for the department.
· Stay current on new technologies, materials, and best practices, and evaluate and apply them to improve product lines and production efficiency.
Required Skills & Abilities
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor
· Strong understanding of engineering theory, design criteria, applied math, and physics
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Proven ability to manage time and meet deadlines
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate work effectively
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of ASME 17.1 elevator codes and compliance requirements
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
· 5 years of engineering experience
· 2 years of leadership experience
