Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Special Education Teacher at Phoenix Modern, located in Phoenix, AZ. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for creating and executing individualized educational plans to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Daily tasks will include teaching and managing a classroom for middle school students, adapting instructional materials, assessing student progress, and implementing strategies to support diverse learning needs. The role will also require effective communication with students, parents, and other educational stakeholders to foster student success.
Qualifications
- Experience with Special Education and supporting students with disabilities
- Proficiency in teaching and working with elementary aged students
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and team members
- Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to fostering equity and empathy
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
- Relevant licensure or certification in Special Education
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus
- Experience in project-based learning or learner-centered pedagogies is an advantage
