Manufacturing technician
Phoenix Metal Products is a growing metal fabrication and manufacturing company that makes metal cabinets, boxes, brackets, machined and welded items. We have been in business for over 34 years.
We are looking to hire motivated people for entry-level or more experienced positions in our manufacturing operations. We will provide training and you will learn some amazing skills here.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating machinery (including high-tech machinery such as metal-cutting lasers, robots and CNC machines)
- Assembling products
- Working as part of a team to build products
- Using precision measuring tools to inspect your work
- Packaging items for shipment
- Assistance with welding and cutting
- Metal finishing (grinding, polishing, powder coating / painting)
Direct experience is not necessary - WE WILL TRAIN YOU. However, applicants must be quick learners, must be mechanically inclined, must have good attention to detail and have good problem solving skills. Must be good working with others as part of a team. Experience with construction or mechanic type work is helpful but not required.
Required qualifications:
- Must be technically oriented and "handy"
- Must have experience with using tools
- General ability to use computers and the internet
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Good eyesight (glasses or contact lenses are OK)
- Basic mathematical skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and decimals). Must be able to do it manually on paper, or using a calculator.
- Must speak and read English.
- Must have valid US work authorization.
You will work with state-of-the-art machinery such as metal-cutting lasers, robots, and automated machinery.
We offer a generous amount of paid time off (paid vacation, sick days, and all major holidays), and can be flexible with schedules as needed.
We have openings in the main day shift (7:30am-4pm), and also shifts that start later in the day.
We are very busy and there are opportunities for significant amounts of overtime.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
