(“RBI”) is a private family-owned portfolio holding company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The portfolio is primarily comprised of several small, independently operated, previously family-run businesses in the light manufacturing and distribution sectors. The portfolio is a long-term holder of its investments and plans to grow both organically and through acquisitions into the foreseeable future. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on the production of evaporative coolers. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to manufacturing equipment, assessing the scope of necessary repairs, and participating in both the maintenance and repair of machinery. The Maintenance Technician will also assist with the installation and removal of commercial or industrial equipment within a manufacturing environment. Additionally, this position will support training efforts to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and proper safety protocols. The Maintenance Technician will have several Roles and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following: Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems failures, identify appropriate solutions, and repair equipment as needed. Assist in the installation, setup, and removal of manufacturing equipment as needed. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery, tools, and production equipment. Machinery maintenance includes all mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, Press Brake, Brake Press, CNC, welding, and other sheet metal fabrication machines. Possess the ability to reference equipment prints, schematics, diagrams, or other resource materials to ensure proper inspection, repair, and use of equipment. Work from maintenance work orders, communicate with the order originator and makes necessary repairs in a safe, acceptable, and timely manner. Experience with electrical systems; AC & DC as well as three-phase wiring. Requires general knowledge and ability to perform factory and grounds maintenance to include plumbing, gas, water, electrical, and structural. Respond promptly to production downtime or equipment malfunction calls and take corrective actions. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve root causes of equipment failures. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests. Must perform all work in accordance with safety procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety standards. Visually/Mechanically inspect equipment for proper operation. Maintain a clean work environment. Assist in other areas of need based on Supervisor/Manager discretion. This is a guideline to help you evaluate the position additional duties as required. Education, Experience & Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of related experience in Maintenance and/or Facilities. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and equipment manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; follow written and/or verbal orders. Effective interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products and conferencing software. Understanding of and the ability to use continuous improvement tools, i.e., Kaizen, 5S. Experience working with large presses is desired. The ability and desire to work overtime is required. Regularly lift and/or move objects 20-25 lbs.; occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs. Able to withstand temperatures in an evaporative cooled warehouse environment.
