Duties
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to ensure healthy, attractive landscapes.
- Operate groundskeeping and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
- Perform tree care activities including planting, pruning, and removal while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage irrigation systems for optimal watering schedules; troubleshoot issues and perform routine system maintenance.
- Apply horticultural knowledge to identify plants, pests, and diseases; assist with pesticide management following safety guidelines.
- Maintain safety standards by following all safety protocols during outdoor work activities; report hazards or equipment issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Prior outdoor work experience or background in groundskeeping, landscaping, or gardening is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and hand tools is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices such as mowing, trimming, planting, and irrigation system operation.
- Ability to identify various plants, trees, pests, and diseases; understanding of horticulture principles is a plus.
- Knowledge of pesticide management procedures and safety protocols related to chemical application.
- Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions with physical stamina for manual labor tasks.
- Strong attention to safety procedures when operating power tools and heavy equipment; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
