JOB TITLE: Job Developer

Bargaining Unit Status:  Non-Bargaining Unit

FULL-TIME  (hours per week: 40)        Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant education and/or experience in rehabilitation, counseling, business, marketing, human services, or a related field required.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two or more years’ experience in workforce development, job placement, sales, recruiting, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field
  • Experience building relationships with employers and community partners preferred
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and general computer operation is required
  • Working knowledge of job placement principles and employment services
  • Strong working knowledge of disability awareness and inclusive employment practices
  • Knowledge of local labor market trends and employer needs
  • Broad knowledge base of disabilities and issues influencing those with various conditions
  • Professional Certification or equivalent certification preferred in:  N/A
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insurance
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, per company requirements
  • Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality
  • Adequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speech
  • Adequate ability in writing/reading/mathematics
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers
  • Strong organizational, project planning, and management experience with proven analytical and multi-tasking skills
  • Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in general reporting and basic case file management

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
Develop and maintain relationships with employers and community partners to create competitive, integrated employment opportunities for persons served. Facilitate job placement and support employment outcomes through effective job matching, job carving, employer engagement, and follow-up. Maintain timely and accurate documentation and remain compliant with AbilityOne and CARF regulations, and adhere to company policies related to service provision. 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a point of contact for employer and community partners as needed. Responsibilities may include supporting onboarding coordination for placed persons served, addressing basic employer inquiries, providing information on available supports, and referring more complex or sensitive matters to appropriate internal staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with employers in the community
  • Conduct employer outreach to secure job opportunities aligned with the person's served goals and abilities
  • Match persons served with appropriate employment opportunities based on assessments, preferences, and readiness
  • Assist with resume development, applications, and interview preparation as needed
  • Coordinate with internal staff to support placement success
  • Maintain communication with employers, referral sources, and internal team members regarding employment progress
  • As necessary, develop, write, and present progress reports documenting employment outcomes and employer engagement
  • Complete training as defined by the Phoenix Professional Development Plan
  • Represent Phoenix in the business community through involvement in civic and professional organizations
  • Provide information as requested for various statistical and reporting requirements
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • Serve as a primary resource person for information on current employer needs
  • To make determinations with the program participant regarding the least restrictive work environment, readiness for work, strengths and limitations as they relate to employment, and support required to secure and maintain employment
  • Develop targeted outreach strategies to expand employer partnerships within the community
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with key employers to support long-term hiring pipelines
  • Coordinate and facilitate job site visits, informational interviews, and hiring events to support placement outcomes
  • Represent Phoenix within the business community to promote services and strengthen partnerships
  • Align employer development activities with referral source expectations and organizational performance goals
  • Provide structured follow-up with employers and persons served to support successful job retention
  • Proactively identify and address barriers to employment stability through problem-solving and collaboration
  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure seamless transition from placement to ongoing support
  • Support implementation of workplace accommodations and strategies to enhance long-term success
  • Monitor employment outcomes and provide feedback to improve service delivery and employer engagement efforts
  • Maintain contact and communication with appropriate supervisors, project managers, and other Phoenix Vocational staff to provide effective case management services
  • Participate in mission-based community activities
  • Provide case management services to referred individuals
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Adequate ability for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems
  • Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and in all situations
  • Ability to move safely about the work area
  • Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas
  • Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures
  • Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day

  • Must be able to exercise good judgment in an effort to maintain a safe work environment
RATE OF PAY: $50,000 per year
