TITLE: Therapist, Behavioral HealthRESPONSIBLE TO: Clinical SupervisorWORK AREA: Outpatient office, Community, TelehealthSUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Therapist's primary role, under the direction of the ClinicalSupervisor, is to utilize their specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills incounseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments, and preparation and delivery of treatment plans forchildren, adolescent, and adult patients. The Behavioral Health Therapist will provide therapysessions for individuals, groups, and families.BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN CATEGORY I: Tasks with actual blood/body fluid exposure arenot included in this position’s duties as the job requires therapeutic counseling only.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDay-To-Day Responsibilities Provide individual and group strengths-based therapy to children, adolescents, adults, andfamilies. Establish clear goals and strategies for the welfare of the client and maintain documentationof services provided and client progress. Work with the client to develop an individual treatment plan according to OMHAS andCARF person/family-centered standards, review and monitor services and activities,documenting progress. Support the care team environment by working collaboratively with clients and theirfamilies as appropriate, physicians, nurse practitioners, case management, referral sources,and ancillary agencies. Provide client referrals to psychiatry/nurse practitioners, support groups, or other mentalhealth professionals or agencies, and document services provided per the policies of PATHBehavioral Health, your professional licensing body, and state and federal guidelines. Participate in care conferences and case reviews, and document and report concerns ofabuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities according to the requirements of state/federallaw and your licensing body. Work professionally with referring providers or agencies, court systems, probationdepartments, foster care agencies, and the school system. Be committed and respectful of cultural diversity, religious and personal values, andtraditions of clients and their families in alignment with the Path’s mission.Day-To-Day Team Member Responsibilities Willingly serve in a professional and collaborative capacity with all other employees ofPath Behavioral Healthcare, fully understanding and complying with all organizationalprocesses and policies. Collaborate with all supervisors and coworkers to communicate with transparency and driveimplementation of the organization's goals, objectives, and processes. Maintain an organized practice and schedule, be at work on time and ready to work, andleave work at the completion of client care responsibilities. Reduce client rescheduling by fully informing the appropriate person of necessary time offwork. Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA guidelines, confidentiality agreements, billing andcoding guidelines, and company policy. Maintain a demeanor of positive professionalism and serve as a model for others toexemplify the mission and vision of Path Behavioral Healthcare.Licensing/Continuing Education Maintains an active, unrestricted Ohio license to provide clinical counseling services. Attends all required continuing education opportunities per the regulations of your licensingbody.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Candidate must have a Master's degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling from anaccredited university. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work is also acceptable if the candidate holdsa valid LSW license.Licensure: Candidates must possess one of the following licenses: LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCCExperience: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, including at least1 year of experience in an outpatient setting.Physical Effort: This position requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and to workirregular hours. Requires sitting for extended periods of time, viewing computer monitors, andkeyboarding.Communication Skills: Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsin order to communicate professionally via telephone and in writing. Strong grammar and writingskills are crucial for clear and concise communication with clients, colleagues, and other healthcareprofessionals.Interpersonal Skills: The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to interact and assist ina friendly, compassionate, and professional manner with colleagues, providers, clients, and theirfamilies, as they represent both themselves and Path Behavioral Healthcare.Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Candidates must achieve competency in the Electronic HealthRecord (EHR) program, telemedicine services, and any additional software programs utilized by thecompany, ensuring efficient access and updating of client information. The role requires finedexterity, adept handling, and proficient gripping abilities to perform various tasks.Background: The candidate must pass all federal and state background checks, and theireducational and work history will be confirmed in compliance with company policies.
