Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire escrow process from opening to closing, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
- Coordinate with lenders, title companies, real estate agents, and clients to facilitate seamless communication
- Review loan documents for compliance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and underwriting standards
- Prepare and verify escrow instructions, contracts, and settlement statements in accordance with TILA (Truth in Lending Act) regulations
- Conduct credit analysis and assess financial documentation to validate borrower eligibility
- Ensure adherence to Fair Housing regulations and other relevant legal requirements throughout the transaction process
- Manage escrow accounts using precise math skills and 10-key typing to accurately record financial data
- Facilitate loan origination processes by supporting loan officers with necessary documentation and processing steps
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, contracts, and correspondence for audit purposes
- Assist in mortgage servicing activities by monitoring escrow disbursements and reconciling accounts regularly
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Escrow Officer or in a similar role within financial services or mortgage industry with active book of business
- Strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and loan processing steps
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing, credit analysis, TILA regulations, and contracts management
- Familiarity with banking operations, escrow procedures, fair housing laws, and basic math skills for financial calculations
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients and industry partners
- Ability to interpret complex documents accurately while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience with loan officer responsibilities or mortgage origination is a plus
