About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Screw Machine Operator to set up and operate Davenport machines, ensuring the production of high-quality manufactured products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shop drawings and precision measuring instruments, contributing to our commitment to excellence. This role requires adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities- Operate and monitor Davenport machines to meet production goals.
- Interpret shop drawings to ensure accurate product dimensions and specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify product quality and adherence to standards.
- Maintain accurate records, including attribute & SPC charting and lot tracking.
- Ensure proper material handling and movement to subsequent operations.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and chip removal.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and collaborate with engineering and maintenance departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting shop drawings.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to perform basic shop mathematics.
Preferred Skills
- 1-3 years of experience operating Davenport screw machines.
- Familiarity with quality control software and SPC charting.
- Experience in problem-solving and machine maintenance.
