Job Description
The Senior Landman at Phoenix Energy One, LLC is a management-level role encompassing all Landman functions, with additional supervisory responsibilities across all projects. This role requires excellent writing and oral communication skills, the ability to draft documents with an understanding of Land and Legal matters (including purchase and sale agreements, deeds of conveyance, oil and gas leases, affidavits, etc.), and the capability to multitask and perform complex title due diligence and curative tasks while adhering to strict deadlines. The Senior Landman is expected to actively participate in and contribute to various meetings related to Land issues and requests, play a key role in prospect evaluation and priority setting, and take an opportunistic approach to Land work.
Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Bachelor’s degree in Land Management, Energy Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Oversee and supervise all land projects
- Perform all functions of a Landman, including running full mineral and royalty title
- Draft and review legal documents such as purchase and sale agreements, deeds of conveyance, oil and gas leases, and affidavits
- Conduct complex titles due diligence and curative tasks
- Participate in and contribute to meetings related to Land issues and requests
- Play a key role in prospect evaluation and setting priorities
- Supervise and mentor junior employees

- Take an opportunistic approach to Land work
- Understand and calculate working interest and overriding royalty interest
- Address and resolve complex land-related issues
- Strong understanding of land and legal matters, particularly in title due diligence and curative processes
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to supervise multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for drafting documents and participating in meetings
- Strategic thinking and ability to contribute to prospect evaluation and priority setting
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle various tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, deeds of conveyance, oil and gas leases, affidavits, etc.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior employees
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in land management or related field, with significant experience running full mineral and royalty title
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in using land databases and external resources (e.g., State Oil & Gas Commissions, Federal BLM MLRS system, County Clerk websites)
