Description

Position: ARNP
Entity: Phoenix Employee Solutions, LLC.
Responsible To: Medical Director

Employee classification: Exempt
Supervised By: Medical Directors
Position/Individuals Supervised: None
Interrelationships:
Maintains open communication lines with Medical Director, Physician, Director of Nursing, facility staff, therapists, and patients.
Positional Purpose:
The ARNP assists the Medical Director with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care. He/she assists in providing for the development and evaluation of nursing unit personnel.
Position Requirements/Qualifications Desired:
1. Education:
Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing. ARNP’s have a Master’s degree in Nursing, which includes clinical training in a health care specialty.
2. Experience:
A minimum of two to five years of Medical and/or Psych experience as a ARNP preferred.
3. Licensure/Certification:
Licensed to practice as a ARNP the State of Florida; maintains current licensure per state requirements.
4. Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards. Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills. Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws. Knowledge of nursing care for the dual-diagnosed patient.
5. Age Specific Individuals Served/Responsibility: Adults

6. Other Qualifications: Familiar with community resources

1. Environment Conditions: Position requires work in a temperature controlled environment; 100% of the time spent indoors.

1. Supervision Provided To Position:
Considered expert health care providers and work in tandem with medical doctors. Performance standards are integrated within the position responsibilities. 1. Participates in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings.
2. Facilitates team interaction for discharge planning.
3. Collects and records data in comprehensive, accurate, and systemic manner.
4. Initiates and completes initial history and physical within 24 hours.
5. Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu.
6. Knowledge of program policies and procedures.
7. Shares pertinent information with the team as obtained from patients or family throughout the program.
8. Collaborates with the medical staff to provide medical and nursing care.
9. Attends daily staff meetings.
10. Formulates standards for patient policies and procedures.
11. Promotes good public relations between program and nursing department.
12. Provides individual therapy as needed.
13. Documents patient progress/regress according to established policies and procedures.
14. Assess patient’s need to see a psychiatrist and medical doctor weekly.
15. Provides primary care and Medical/Psychiatric Treatment.
16. Maintains compliance with established nursing care standards.
17. Supervises and instructs patients in medication self-administration, the preparation and giving of injections, and health education as needed.
18. Reviews lab results and provides treatment and/or referral as needed.
19. Initiates, monitors, and manages therapies including pharmacotherapy per protocol as approved by the Medical Director.
20. Evaluates behavioral problems and diagnosis, and make treatment recommendations.
21. Orders consults for other medical specialties as needed.
22. Refers difficult cases to the Medical Director for consult.
23. Provides Medical Director with findings of case reviews and a detailed consult report stating the exact nature of the consult request.
24. Manages time effectively for proper balance between administrative unit responsibilities and nursing responsibilities.
25. Formulates standards of care for patients with the Nursing Staff.
26. Assists in reviewing, revising, and formulating policies and procedures specific to Program, with approval of the Medical Director and Performance Improvement Coordinator.
27. Assists in evaluating patient care daily by assessing patients and reviewing nursing documentation.
28. Provides Utilization Review with the detailed information needed for the appropriate level of care of the patient.
29. Ensuring continuity of care through the use of foresight in directing, controlling, planning, and organizing patient care.
30. Serves as patient advocate, clinical resource person, and role model for nursing protocol.
31. Communicates with family and health professionals concerning the care of patients.
32. Assists in reporting infection control incidents to Performance Team and Risk Management.
33. Psychiatric Evaluations completed within 48 hours of admission.
34. Maintains that all notes are in the chart in the appropriate section for review by the Medical Director.
35. Addresses all cares and concerns related with the patient to the treatment team.
36. Ensures that the safety of the client is our priority at all times.
37. Ensures that any client that is in need of urgent psychiatric care that the Baker Act is enforced and that the client is placed in an appropriate facility for such care.
38. Continues to attend regularly scheduled education classes related to the disease of addiction.
39. Keeps and open dialogue with the Medical Director for optimal client care.
