Salary placement= $74,746.00 to $102,109.00, depending on level of education and years of relevant experience.
Meeting our mission to inspire every child to achieve is dependent on the relationships between families, schools and the broader community. The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator helps to connect families with resources, services, and community referrals. In collaboration with families, staff, and community members, the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator operates and manages the Family Center while organizing, scheduling, and facilitating family engagement activities. In addition, this position leads Family and Community Engagement Specialists at each school and supervises the Family Center Technician. A champion of equity and academic excellence, the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator also serves as a liaison between schools, families and the community with a focus on marketing the school, encouraging enrollment and retention, and raising the academic achievement of all Phoenix #1 students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages Family Center operations and programming, including providing supervision over Family Center staff and volunteers.
- Plans, organizes, and facilitates Family Center programming, such as adult education classes, volunteering, and family workshops.
- Serves as outreach liaison between school and district personnel, families, and community agencies.
- Ensures that Family Center services are equitable, culturally responsive, and adaptive.
- Collaborates with district wide staff to support families with the enrollment process as well as opportunities to share their ideas and to make decisions about school policies and programming.
- Coordinates implementation of Family and Community Education programs and services in collaboration with Family and Community Engagement Specialists, Principals, Social Workers, Parent Engagement Liaisons, Teachers, Nurses, and others.
- Addresses parent concerns and research information to facilitate problem-solving in collaboration with school and district staff.
- Coordinates services with other community agencies and programs offering services to parents and their children.
- Ensures that families are involved with the yearly evaluation and revision of the School-Parent Compact and other documents.
- Oversees the development, distribution and collection of the annual Parent Survey, including compiling the results.
- Oversees High School Night for 8th grade students and their families.
- Represents the District at various community events supporting families and children.
- Recruits community and parent volunteers to enhance opportunities in parent education programs.
- Collects, maintains and manages data to measure effectiveness of parent education programs across the District.
- Attends trainings to enhance program development and engage in on-going learning about issues related to the needs of the school and community.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: · High School diploma or GED · Ability to communicate in Spanish, verbal and written |
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: · Arizona Teaching Certificate or education-related professional certification · Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Education or related field · Three or more years of experience as a classroom teacher or adult learning facilitator |
