Electrical Project Manager

Position Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Phoenix Electrical Technologies’ quality standards. The Project Manager works closely with estimating, operations, and field teams to maintain effective communication, control project scope, and achieve customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

KRA #1: Project Planning and Execution

Outcome: Projects are completed on time, on budget, and in full compliance with design and safety standards.

Duties:

• Lead all phases of assigned projects, including budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
• Develop project execution plans and update schedules regularly.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and material procurement with accuracy and urgency.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality.
• Facilitate project meetings and coordinate with foremen and field supervisors.

KRA #2: Financial Management and Cost Control

Outcome: Profit margins and cost forecasts are achieved through disciplined project controls.

Duties:

• Prepare monthly job cost reports and analyze cost-to-complete data.
• Manage change order processes to ensure timely pricing, approval, and billing.
• Validate labor tracking and productivity reporting.
• Support Accounts Receivable in payment application and collection efforts.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement corrective actions when needed.

KRA #3: Client and Stakeholder Communication

Outcome: Clients and partners are informed, satisfied, and confident in Phoenix Electrical Technologies’ performance.

Duties:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project partners.
• Maintain proactive updates and communication regarding schedule, issues, and solutions.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes and project correspondence.
• Build lasting relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, professionalism, honesty and integrity.

KRA #4: Collaboration and Field Coordination

Outcome: Seamless coordination between office and field teams ensuring effective resource use and jobsite efficiency.

Duties:

• Partner with the General Superintendent to allocate manpower and resources.
• Coordinate with foremen on lookahead schedules and project priorities.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and company procedures.
• Review installation methods for constructability and quality.

KRA #5: Documentation and Continuous Improvement

Outcome: Accurate project records and lessons learned drive ongoing operational improvement.

Duties:

• Maintain organized project files and correspondence.
• Participate in post-project reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to refining Phoenix Electrical Technologies’ project management tools and templates.
• Share lessons learned with estimating and field leadership.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

1. 5–10 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
2. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
3. In-depth knowledge of NEC, construction drawings, and industry best practices.

Skills

1. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication.
3. Proficiency in construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
4. Ability to read, interpret, and manage complex technical documents.
5. Collaborative leadership style that promotes teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

1. OSHA 30 certification.
2. NECA or IEC project management training.
