Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Concrete Finisher role based in Miami, FL. The Concrete Finisher will prepare, place, level, and finish concrete for sidewalks, curbs, ramps, slabs, and other exterior flatwork, following project specifications and safety standards. Daily responsibilities include setting and stripping forms, grading and compacting base materials, placing reinforcement as needed, and using hand tools and power tools to achieve smooth, durable finishes. The role also involves assisting with concrete cutting and demolition, minor carpentry related to formwork, site cleanup, and coordination with crew members, supervisors, and other trades on active job sites. The Concrete Finisher will be expected to follow OSHA safety guidelines, use personal protective equipment, and support a clean, organized work environment on all projects.
Qualifications
- Concrete forming and formwork skills, including setting, bracing, and stripping forms for sidewalks, curbs, ramps, and slabs.
- Flatwork finishing experience, including placing, screeding, floating, troweling, edging, and jointing concrete surfaces.
- Proficiency with power tools commonly used in concrete work (e.g., saws, grinders, vibrators, power trowels) and safe operating practices.
- Basic carpentry abilities related to building and adjusting wood or metal forms on various site conditions.
- Experience working around or with heavy equipment for grading, compaction, and material handling, in coordination with equipment operators.
- Knowledge of job-site safety standards, including OSHA construction safety practices and proper use of PPE.
- Ability to read and follow basic construction plans, grades, and layout instructions, including ADA-compliant ramp and sidewalk details.
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
