Job Overview
The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking Juvenile Support Aides (JSAs) to provide care, custody, and supervision of youth in secure juvenile justice facilities. This role is critical to maintaining safety, discipline, and rehabilitation support for residents.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor youth in living units, recreation, and work assignments.
- Ensure safety and security of the facility across all shifts.
- Provide guidance in daily routines, personal hygiene, and vocational activities.
- Document resident behavior and progress toward treatment goals.
- Support rehabilitation programs and case planning activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience working with youth or in correctional settings preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules (first, second, and third shifts).
Work Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Coverage needed across all shifts (day, evening, overnight).
