What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/Cocktail Server position at Phoenix Airport Marriott Hotel?
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Physical requirements:
· Flexible hours sometimes required.
· Medium work - Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
· Ability to walk and/or stand during entire shift.
Essential:
· Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
· Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Columbia Sussex standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
· Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
· Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
· Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
· Understand meal options available in anticipation of the day’s business.
· Using knowledge of menus and current specials, up-sell items to guests.
· Communicate orders to the kitchen and bartender as needed.
· Deliver meal orders according to established standards.
· Ensure quality of food & beverage being delivered and communicate with Manager/Captain/Kitchen.
· Assist with opening and closing duties according to established work checklist.
