The Academic Workforce Partner actively engages with student groups through on-site visits and presentations to promote healthcare careers and supports strategic initiatives with academic partners. In addition, this role is instrumental in capturing key metrics that inform strategic workforce planning and decision-making. Working collaboratively with the Academic Workforce Manager, VP for Education, and Talent Acquisition team, the Academic Workforce Partner helps build robust pipelines to meet future staffing needs across the health system.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education or a related field. Required
- Master’s degree in business, education or a related field. Preferred
- 3 or more years’ experience in health care or related field.
- 1 or more years supervisory experience.
- Manage student programs, including clinical rotations, internships, practicums, shadowing, and high school initiatives, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Manage all aspects of student credentialing for clinical rotations and experiential learning opportunities.
- Maintain centralized scheduling and tracking of placements across departments.
- Manage Matching and Placement student platform; monitor student clinical requirements and compliance with health system requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation for the student extern program.
- Organize and manage student-related events, including clinical allocation meetings, preceptorship interviews, and student excellence award recognition.
- Coordinate and manage summer student engagement programs.
- Develop and maintain recruitment pipelines through partnerships with schools, colleges, and universities.
- Maintain formal affiliation agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with academic institutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, program directors, and clinical instructors.
- Align student programs with organizational workforce and hiring strategies.
- Support initiatives that connect student experiences to recruitment pipelines for critical roles.
- Take ownership of strategic academic partnership programs to ensure accountability for ROI and program success - specifically the Living and Learning Community project with Albany Technical College.
- Engage with student groups through on-site visits and formal presentations to promote healthcare careers and experiential learning opportunities.
- Educate and provide guidance on student programs, opportunities, procedures, orientation, scheduling, and credentialing requirements.
- Educate community partners on guidelines for student engagement, including volunteerism and clinical experiences.
- Develop and distribute communications to students and academic partners.
- Respond to inquiries regarding student opportunities, programs, and health screening requirements.
- Collaborate with the Academic Workforce Development Manager, VP for Education, and Talent Acquisition team to build robust pipelines to meet future staffing needs across the health system.
- Ensure compliance with health system policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Standardize and communicate student policies and processes across the health system.
- Maintain and enforce compliance with student-related policies.
- Maintain accurate student data, metrics, and compliance documentation.
- Responsible for technical application of student data management system.
- Responsible for tracking student volumes and key metrics on a monthly basis that inform strategic workforce planning and investment initiatives.
- Maintain department records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Manage multiple projects and programs within the department.
- Must relate to individuals in a manner to win confidence and establish support.
- Must be able to communicate with diverse age groups.
