Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Mobile Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. This role involves traveling to the North Hollywood facility on Mondays and Fridays 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM or just Mondays at the Los Angeles facility 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM to perform blood draws and centrifuging samples. This role also involves traveling to patient's locations to perform blood draws and specimen collections as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong patient/customer service skills, laboratory knowledge, and experience in clinical settings. As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in supporting diagnostic processes and patient care outside of traditional clinical environments. Compensation for this role is per patient. Duties
- Driving with a valid drivers license and auto insurance, using ones personal car
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using aseptic techniques
- Prepare and process specimens according to laboratory protocols
- Centrifuging samples and pour offs when needed
- Obtain samples and document patient information accurately
- Maintain proper labeling, storage, packaging, and transportation of specimens to the laboratory, or shipping facility (FedEx, USPS, or UPS)
- Assist with specimen processing and documentation to ensure timely delivery to the laboratory or shipping facility (FedEx, USPS, or UPS)
- Provide excellent patient service, ensuring comfort and clear communication during procedures
- Follow all safety protocols, including infection control and confidentiality standards
- Educate patients on procedures and answer any questions related to blood collection or specimen handling
Requirements
- Proven experience in phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, or clinical laboratory settings
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, specimen collection/processing, and blood sampling methods
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques
- Prior hospital or healthcare experience is preferred
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach
- Ability to work independently while managing travel schedules efficiently
- Certification in phlebotomy is required
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance with reliable transportation for mobile visits
- Must uphold high standards of personal hygiene and comply with all sanitization, infection-control, and PPE protocols in accordance with the healthcare industry and CDC guidelines. This includes thorough hand hygiene, correct glove use, equipment cleaning, and strict adherence to safety and infection-control protocols
- Attention to detail, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment is essential in every patient interaction
