Overview
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients for medical or clinical testing, transfusions, donations, or research.
Duties
- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to collect blood specimens
- Label vials with patient names and dates
- Organize and send specimens to the laboratory for testing
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate records of patient interactions
- Educate patients on specimen collection procedures
- Adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques during specimen collection
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Skills
- Proficient in patient service and care
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to phlebotomy
- Ability to accurately assess vital signs
- Familiarity with hospital procedures and laboratory protocols
- Competent in aseptic technique during blood collection
- Skilled in laboratory procedures for specimen processing
- Strong attention to detail in specimen collection and processing
