Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our clinical laboratory team. Duties
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using proper phlebotomy techniques
- Prepare and process specimens according to laboratory protocols, ensuring proper labeling and handling
- Perform routine laboratory procedures utilizing standard laboratory techniques and aseptic methods
- Record vital signs and patient information accurately, maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment following safety protocols
- Provide compassionate patient service, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort during specimen collection
- Handle specimens carefully during transportation to testing areas, adhering to specimen processing guidelines
- Support laboratory staff with additional tasks such as inventory management and equipment maintenance as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings preferred
- Certification or training in phlebotomy with demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and blood sampling
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and blood collection protocols
- Experience working with patients in hospital or healthcare environments is advantageous
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and specimen handling procedures
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow strict safety guidelines
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting while maintaining a high level of professionalism and patient care standards
