What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teachers -- Full Day and Half Day position at PHL Pre-K?
Starting for the 2026-27
PHL Pre-K is currently looking for an Assistant Teacher for our 4/5 prek program:
Assistant Teacher 4/5 year Pre-K program (ages 4-6 yrs). (Salary range $13-15 ). Starting salary is between $13.00-13.50per hour, with possibility of end of year raise after your first full year (current range for this position dependent on experience/educ.). Position runs M-Th, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, assisting the lead teacher in the 4/5 Pre-K program and all that role entails, as well as helping to cover the lead role should you ever be needed to when the lead is absent. This position includes an additional half hour paid prep time each week, paid personal days, paid school holidays, and paid meetings and required school functions, as well as paid required trainings... with the Possibility of a yearly end-of-year bonus after your first full year.
***You also have the opportunity to work as a sub on Fridays should we ever need... Sub positions would run 9:00-12:00. (pay is currently $15 per hour) - Fridays when needed
**** Also possible add-on as Music Specials teacher or P.E. Teacher few hrs a week for those qualified
Summer camp weeks in the Summer are also available to you to work. This includes at least one week in June and one in July - again pay rate for camps is currently $17 per hr. M-F 9-12:30 for those weeks.
****POSSIBLE HALF DAY POSITION --- there is also a possible half day position available from 9-12 on M/W/F, and smaller possibility of a PM 12-3 position, as well as substitute positions (we do hire internally first) --- message for more info!****
