Cultivation Technician
The Cultivation Technician will play a key role in the care and management of our cannabis plants throughout their growth cycle. This position requires a strong understanding of plant biology, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Care and Maintenance:
- Assist in all stages of plant growth, from seedling to harvest.
- Water, trim, and prune plants to ensure optimal growth and health.
- Monitor plant health, identifying pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Apply pesticides, fungicides, and other treatments as needed, following all safety guidelines.
- Maintain proper environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, light, CO2) in the grow rooms.
- Harvesting and post-harvest:
- Assist with the harvesting process.
- Handle plants carefully to minimize damage and ensure quality.
- Record Keeping:
- Document daily activities in a cultivation log, including plant growth stages, nutrient schedules, and environmental conditions.
- Monitor and record plant health and report any concerns to the Cultivation Manager.
- General Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness of the cultivation area, ensuring it meets regulatory and safety standards.
- Sanitize tools, equipment, and growing spaces regularly to avoid contamination.
- Ensure that all supplies (fertilizers, soil, water) are properly stored and accessible.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all company policies and state/local regulations regarding cannabis cultivation and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols for both the plants and the facility.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certification in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in cannabis cultivation or horticulture is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cannabis plant biology, cultivation techniques, and pest management is a plus.
- Skills:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of hydroponics, soil cultivation, and plant nutrition.
- Physical stamina for bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Familiarity with safe handling of pesticides and chemicals.
- Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age (or per local laws).
- Ability to pass background checks in accordance with state regulations.
- Reliable transportation to and from the cultivation facility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Pervious Night Shift work a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., temperature-controlled grow rooms).
