Server – Philomena Pizza (Oakland, CA)
Philomena Pizza in Oakland, CA is looking for a friendly, motivated server to join our 16-person strong team. We’re a community-focused, neighborhood restaurant known for scratch-made pizza, wings, burgers, and great beer. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, team-oriented, and passionate about creating a welcoming experience for every guest.
Servers typically earn an additional $5–$25 per hour in tips on top of hourly wages (varies by shift).
Responsibilities
- Greet all customers with gratitude and a warm welcome
- Set and sanitize tables
- Present menus, answer questions, and guide food selections (up-selling encouraged)
- Deliver food and beverages to tables and service window orders
- Expedite takeout orders with superb accuracy — double-checking every order, every time
- Create a consistently excellent customer experience
Qualifications
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Previous serving experience a plus (but not required)
Preferred Skills (not required but a big plus!)
- Bilingual English/Spanish (to support clear communication with BOH and guests)
- Beer knowledge or interest in learning
- A genuine desire to make every customer a “regular”
