This role is critical for ensuring best-in-class accounting practices, overseeing daily transactions, and supporting month-end close. The Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The Role
Philo is seeking a dynamic and organized Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of our rapidly growing Hospitality Division.
This role is critical for ensuring best-in-class accounting practices, overseeing daily transactions, and supporting month-end close. The Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Core Responsibilities
- Day-to-Day Accounting: Manage daily motel and restaurant accounting, including Billing, A/R, A/P, and G/L entries.
- Audit & Close: Perform daily audits and manage the month-end closing process to help prepare accurate monthly financial statements.
- System Management: Maintain and improve a robust accounting system.
- Compliance: Maintain knowledge of and ensure Sales Tax compliance.
- Administrative Support: Provide support for various administrative needs as required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar accounting position.
- Bonus: Experience with motel and/or restaurant accounting.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in QuickBooks Online.
- Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
