We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Building Surveyor to support our architectural team with field measurements, existing-condition documentation, and site observations throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed on-site measurements of existing buildings and spaces
- Capture clear, organized photographs of building conditions
- Document observed structural deficiencies and existing conditions
- Prepare accurate field notes, sketches, and survey documentation for the design team
- Communicate with clients to coordinate site access and appointment times
- Report site findings clearly and professionally to our team
Schedule
- Approximately 8–20 hours per week
- Primarily on-site, with some remote administrative work as needed
- Very flexible hours
- Gas, parking, and mileage compensation available
Requirements
- Must be located in Philadelphia or the surrounding area
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must have reliable personal transportation to travel to job sites
- Must be comfortable visiting active construction sites and existing occupied properties
- Must be able to take accurate field measurements and organized site notes
- Must have an iPhone; phone compensation can be discussed
- Must wear company-labeled gear when conducting surveys
- Must have active health insurance and provide proof upon engagement
Preferred Background
- Familiarity with architectural, engineering, or construction concepts
- Experience with field measuring, inspections, surveying, or existing-condition documentation
