We are seeking a highly skilled Art Director to lead our creative team in designing innovative, high-impact signage. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, expertise in signage-specific tools, and proven leadership abilities to guide projects from concept to completion while meeting client expectations and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop original, visually compelling design concepts for custom signage, including corporate branding, wayfinding, and promotional displays, based on client briefs.
- Lead and mentor a team of sign artists, providing feedback to ensure high-quality, consistent design outputs.
- Oversee the design process from initial sketches to final proofs, ensuring alignment with client branding, budget, and project timelines.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or Signlab software to create precise digital designs and layouts suitable for fabrication.
- Collaborate with sales, production, and installation teams to select materials (e.g., acrylic, metal, LED) and ensure designs meet practical constraints and installation requirements.
- Stay updated on signage design trends, sustainable materials, and emerging technologies (e.g., digital or interactive displays) to drive innovation.
- Review final artwork for quality control and brand consistency, ensuring error-free deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 5–10 years of experience in graphic design, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role, preferably within the signage or B2B design industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); experience with Signlab or similar signage software is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of modern sign design theory, typography, color theory, and materials used in sign fabrication.
- Familiarity with scaled drawings, ADA compliance, and industry standards for signage production and installation.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a proven ability to create visually appealing, functional designs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- A portfolio showcasing signage or B2B design projects is preferred.
