What the Physical Education (PE) Teacher does:
As the PE Teacher, you’ll help students build confidence, skills, and healthy habits through engaging physical education programming. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and related service providers to create a positive and structured learning environment for students with diverse needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver Physical Education instruction to elementary, middle, and high school students.
- Plan age‑appropriate daily activities, team sports, and school-wide tournaments or events.
- Select and adapt instructional materials to meet student needs and curriculum goals.
- Maintain PE equipment, spaces, inventory, and the program budget.
- Support student safety through active supervision during classes, transitions, and bus duty.
- Implement individual and group behavior management strategies and assist during crises when needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, OTs, PTs, and student support staff to coordinate programming and share student updates.
- Complete required documentation, including incident and behavioral reports.
What the PE Teacher brings to the team:
- Bachelor’s Degree, required.
- Collegiate Professional certification (or higher) in Physical Education or in Special Education with Physical Education experience.
- Experience working in a special education school setting or with students with special needs, preferred.
Salary : $53,000 - $87,000
