We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure manufactured products meet company and customer quality standards. The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products using precision measuring instruments and visual inspection techniques. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience reading blueprints, and the ability to identify and document quality issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured products.
- Inspect materials, parts, and finished goods for defects, damage, and compliance with specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Use precision measuring equipment, including:
- Calipers (digital and dial)
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Pin gauges
- Thread gauges
- Tape measures
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and product specifications.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify non-conforming materials and follow established procedures for reporting quality concerns.
- Communicate quality issues with production, supervisors, and engineering personnel.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions when quality issues arise.
- Ensure products meet customer and company quality standards before shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Basic math skills, including working with decimals and fractions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately complete inspection reports and documentation.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
